Here is some of what’s going on:

ALL NIGHT LEARNING

When: Thursday evening May 25th at 11:00 pm
Rabbi Mendelson and Rabbi Judah Kerbel of the Queens Jewish Center will lead a discussion on as many of the 613 mitzvos as we can cover in one night.

 

HEAR THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

When: Friday, May 26th at 10:00 am
Listening to the reading of the “Aseres HaDibros” – the Ten Commandments together with the community is an important part of the Shavuos observance. We are to listen to the reading and imagine that we are standing at Mount Sinai and committing with all our heart to observe and learn more about them.

 

COMMUNAL DAIRY LUNCHEON

When: First Day of Shavuos, Friday, May 26 at 12:30 pm
Celebrate Shavuot at our traditional dairy luncheon following services on the first day of Shavuot.

YIZKOR/MATNAS YAD

When: Second day of Shavuot, Shabbos, May 27 10:45 am
This holy day is also a time to remember our ancestors and the generations before us who sacrificed so much for us to have the spiritual legacy that we have. In our community we also take this moment to reflect on those who dedicate themselves to the success of our community.

 

MATNAS YAD GARDEN PARTY

When: Second day of Shavuot, Shabbos, May 27 3:30—5:00 pm
The Mendelson Family invites one and all to celebrate Shavuot with their special Shavuot treats at their home: 110-12 68th Avenue

 

2ND ANNUAL COMMUNITY-WIDE KINUS TORAH – TORAH CONFERENCE

When: Second Day of Shavuos Shabbos, May 27th 5:00 – 7:00 pm
At the Congregation of Georgian Jews 63-04 Yellowstone Blvd
All are invited to a special conference of Torah ideas featuring presentations by a wide range of Rabbis from the Forest Hills/Rego Park community. Including Rabbis Avraham Ashville, Baruch Babayev, Aharon Chein, Elisha Friedman, Sholem Hecht, Judah Kerbel and Asher Vaknin.
